Who Are We?

Cairde Droim Mor, the friends of Dromore are the people who share in the vision of the future of Dromore GFC.We believe Dromore GFC is important because it is our club, the hub of our community, it is where we belong to. We believe the young people of Dromore are important - because they are our young people, our future club and county stars. Above all we believe Dromore GFC is a hugely important contributor to life and well being in our village!

Why is the GAA important Here?

The GAA is important in Dromore because of what it does, year on year Dromore GFC:

  • provides sports facilities to everyone in Dromore
  • coaches and develops 17 different football teams, for boys and girls, men and women
  • builds team and community spirit
  • provides an outlet for all areas of Irish culture
  • binds our wide community together
  • highlights the importance of lifestyle issues to our young people
  • provides a beacon of stability in what is a rapidly changing and increasingly dangerous world
  • provides a constant talented and dedicated flow of footballers to represent our county in their search for All - Ireland glory at all levels
  • What More is Going to Happen?

Above all, it does these things free-of-charge and regardless of people’s sporting ability. Our focus was and remains the person, not what they can or can’t do.
Dromore GFC has now commenced the most ambitious and sustained development programme we’ve ever undertaken. Over the past year we have started to build a second full size pitch and a state-of-the-art all weather astro turf playing facility (we will be the first GAA club in Tyrone to have such a facility). In the next few years we plan to develop new changing facilities that will incorporate four changing rooms, a referee’s room, a meeting room, a kitchen and a gym. We also intend to provide a new covered stand.
To complete this we will need to spend in excess of £1,000,000, through your help and various funding we are well on our way there but we will need your continued contributions to complete our objectives.
All the while we will continue to keep our club running on a totally voluntary basis and as always our work will benefit everyone in Dromore, our village.

  • What is the Role of Cairde Droim Mor?

Cairde Droim Mor is about helping to raise the money to make all this happen. Its about people who believe in the aims and objectives of Dromore GFC, about people who care about the GAA and the role it plays in our society and the future of our young people.

    Do you care enough?

Members of Cairde Droim Mor agree to contribute £21 per month or £250 per year to help us make Dromore a better place for our young people. In return we’ll provide our part of that better Dromore. Membership of Cairde Droim Mor will also entitle you to annual membership of Dromore G.F.C.

Is Cairde Droim Mor for you?

  • Is Dromore important to you?
  • Do you believe our young people need help and support?
  • Do you value what the St Dympna’s Club and the GAA generally provide?
  • Is what we’re about attractive to you?

  • If you can answer Yes to any of the above questions, then Cairde Droim Mor is for you!
